ATHENS, Ohio - After setting three NCAA Regional marks on the opening weekend of outdoor season, the Ohio track & field squad will look to continue its success at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, hosted by the University of Cincinnati, on Saturday, March 28.
Reigning Mid-American Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week Bahiyjaui Allen (Toledo, Ohio) won the shot put last weekend at the Wake Forest Open with an NCAA Regional qualifying throw of 49-6.50, while distance runners Kari Summers (Troy, Ohio) and Annie Beecham (Granville, Ohio) took the top spots in the 5,000 meters, both with Regional qualifying times. Ohio's other winner last weekend was senior Jessie Tanner (Newark, Ohio), who claimed top honors in the discus throw.
Action at the Bearcats' Gettler Stadium will begin at 10 a.m. ET with the field events. The opening women's event will be the triple jump at 11 a.m. Results of the meet will be available on OhioBobcats.com.
