Track Stays in Athens for Green and White Invite

Green and White Program
Expected to compete in the Green and White Invite are Marshall, Washington and Jefferson, Muskingum, Rio Grande, Marietta, Capital and Berea College. The Bobcats competed at Capital University during the indoor season for the Capital Invitational and have seen many of these teams already in the outdoor season from the Southern Cup (made up of Southern Ohio schools only) and the All-Ohio Championships (solely for universities and colleges from the state of Ohio). Field events are set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the javelin followed by the hammer at 11 a.m. The long jump, high jump and shot put will begin at noon with the discus and pole vault after at 12:30 p.m. The high jump will continue at 1 p.m. along with the triple jump. Bahiyjaui Allen (Sylvania, Ohio) is coming off an dominate performance at the Hillsdale College Relays last weekend where she won both the shot put and the discus and set a new Ohio program record in the shot put with a 50 foot throw. The sophomore was named the Mid-American Conference Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts. On the track, the 5,000 meters will start the action at 11:30 a.m. with the 4x100 relay, 1,500 meters and 100 meter hurdles set to jump off before 1 p.m. The 400 meters, 100 meters, 800 meters, 400 meter hurdles and 200 meters will all start prior to 2 p.m. with the steeplechase and 4x400 meter relay finishing things off around 3 p.m. Admission to the track is free for all fans but coolers, pets and bikes, in addition to other items, will not be allowed into the premises.
