Ohio Open Start List Get Acrobat Reader

ATHENS, Ohio — The Ohio track & field team will get a final crack at qualifying athletes for the Mid-American Conference Track & Field Championships Friday at Goldsberry Track beginning at 2 p.m.

Events kick off with the shot put and discus at 2 p.m. followed by the steeple chase at 3:30 p.m.

Ohio competed at the Ashland Alumni Open and the Hillsdale Gina Relays last weekend.

Senior Donyelle Brown (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) completed at the Ashland Alumni Open, taking second in the hammer throw with a distance of 166-08 to kick things off on Friday night.

Ohio sophomore Kaitlyn Logan (Granville, Ohio) picked up the win in the 800 meter run clocking a time of 2:16.29. Freshman Madison Sury (Waterford, Ohio) was fifth at 2:2008 while freshmanRebekah Markovitz (Columbia, Md.) was eighth at 2:23.78.

Ohio junior Taylor Smith (Canal Winchester, Ohio) picked up the win in the high jump reaching 5-06.50. Freshman Avery Kerns (Sunbury, Ohio) meanwhile took 11th at 4-11.50.

Sophomore Emma Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) won the invite section of the discus with a throw of 155-11. Ryan also won the javelin with a throw of 137-11.

Following the Ohio Open, the Bobcats will travel to Toledo for the MAC Championships May 12-14.
