Accurso is a two-time participant in NCAA cross country regional action and earned a berth in the 5,000m at the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships. In cross country action, Accurso won the NCAA Great Lakes Regional this past fall and competed at the NCAA Championships for the second-straight campaign.
Accurso is coming off yet another strong showing at the MAC Outdoor Championships. The junior earned First Team All-MAC honors after capturing the 5,000m run title in 16:36.65. She broke the school record in the event at the Wake Forest Open (16:21.56) on March 16 and finished second in the highly competitive Jesse Owens Classic (16:36.22) on April 19.
In the 10,000m, Accurso was just two seconds off the school record at the nationally-renowned Stanford Invitational (33:52.33) in March, which marked the 23rd-best time in the East region this season. She also won the 10,000m at the All-Ohio Championships on April 12 in a time of 34:38.93.
Geiger qualified for the NCAA East Regional after shattering her personal-best high jump mark (6.05m) at the Ohio Open on May 3. The jump easily surpassed her previous PR of 5.88m set in 2010. Although not originally in the NCAA Regional field, Geiger qualified for the event after a late scratch from another student-athlete.
In addition to her first-place finish at the Ohio Open, Geiger also won the long jump at the Ohio Team Challenge (5.75m) and placed second at the All-Ohio Championships (5.80m) in April. She placed 11th at the MAC Outdoor Championships after a top mark of 5.50m at the event in Akron.
