FULL PERFORMANCE LIST | NCAA REGIONAL SCHEDULE
ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University senior distance runner Juli Accurso and junior thrower Donyelle Brown have qualified for NCAA East Regional action and will represent the Bobcats in Jacksonville, Fla., May 29-31.
Accurso will compete in the 10000m run (May 29, 9:40 p.m.) and 5000m run (May 31, 8:45 p.m.), while Brown will see action in the hammer throw (May 29, Noon).
Accurso is seeded 11th in the 5000m run after setting a new Ohio record in the event with a time of 15:59.12 at the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 4 in Palo Alto, Calif. The time also was the second-fastest in the history of the Mid-American Conference. She is the No. 22 seed in the 10000m run, and qualified for the event after posting a time of 34:18.12 during a first-place finish at the Hillsdale "Gina" Relays on April 24. She won both events at the MAC Outdoor Championships this past weekend en route to earning MAC Outdoor Track Most Outstanding Performer honors.
This is the second-straight NCAA East Regional appearance for Accurso, a four-time USTFCCCA All-American. The Casstown, Ohio, native qualified for the 10000m run in 2013 as well.
Brown enjoyed a record-breaking outdoor season for the Green & White in 2014. She set a new school record in the hammer throw at the All-Ohio Championships (56.89m) on April 11. Then, the Reynoldsburg, Ohio, native broke her own record the following week with a mark of 57.41m at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus. That throw earned her the No. 28 spot in the NCAA East Regional.
