Ohio's Bahiyjaui Allen (Toledo, Ohio) and Emily Amendola (Beach City, Ohio) will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on Friday and Saturday at the University of Arkansas' John McDonnell Field.

While Arkansas hosts the Mideast Championships, Florida State is hosting the East Championships, Nebraska the Midwest Championships and Cal State Northridge is holding the West Championships.

Field events will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday with running events starting at 3 p.m. On Saturday, field events will begin at 11 a.m. with running events following at 5 p.m. Gates will open one hour prior to the first event. Fans can park in Lots 44, 56, 72, 73 and 73A. Spectators can enter John McDonnell Field through the northwest corner gates. Visit www.hogwired.com or www.ladybacks.com for complete details of the championships.

Allen will compete in the shot put while Amendola will throw in both the shot and the hammer. Allen set a new all-time Ohio record in the shot put at the MAC Outdoor Championships with a throw of 51 feet, 11.25 inches. She also holds the indoor shot put record. Amendola recorded a new all-time Ohio record in the hammer earlier in the season with a throw of 180 feet, seven inches at the Ohio Open.

A top five finish in any individual event and a top three finish in a relay automatically qualifies a student-athlete for the NCAA Championships, in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 11-14. To be considered for an at-large bid, an individual competitor must finish sixth through 12th and relays must finish fourth through eighth.
