ATHENS, Ohio -
Ohio Track and Field released their 2010 schedule today, which includes both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The indoor season will be spent entirely away from Athens, but three outdoor meets will be at home.
The indoor season begins on January 9, when the Bobcats head to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Indiana Open. The rest of January includes trips to Bowling Green, Morgantown (WV) and Findlay.
February will be an important month for the `Cats, as both the All-Ohio Championships (Bowling Green, OH) and the Mid-American Conference Championships (Mount Pleasant, MI) will take place during this time. Also in February, the Bobcats will head to Marietta and Bexley for competitions.
The indoor season wraps up in the middle of March, with the final event being the NCAA Championships held in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
There will be a very quick transition from indoor to outdoor, as Ohio's first meet of the outdoor season will take place just a week after the indoor NCAAs. On March 19, the `Cats will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to compete in the Wake Forest Open.
Other notable events on the outdoor schedule include the Jesse Owens Classic in nearby Columbus, the MAC Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., and the three meets that will be held in Athens (Ohio Women's Team Challenge, All-Ohio Championships and the Ohio Open).
The 2010 outdoor season concludes on June 9-12 when the NCAA Championships are hosted by the University of Oregon.
