ATHENS, Ohio - Colt Thompson (Logan), Janna Vazquez (Lancaster) and Stephanie Willets (Whitehouse) signed letters of intent to compete for the Ohio track & field team in 2003, Ohio head coach Elmore Banton announced recently.

Thompson finished seventh in the 2001 state Division I championships in the shot put. Also as a junior, he captured third place in the shot put at regional championships. Thompson's best mark in the shot put is 61-8; his best throw in the discus is 158-0.

Vazquez was a state qualifier in the 400 meters, and a member of the third-place 1600 meter relay team at the 2001 state championships. Her best time in the 200 is 25.7, and her fastest mark in the 400 is 57.7.

Willets placed fifth in the 800 meters at the 2001 state Division I championships. Her best time in the 800m is 2:15.7.
