ATHENS, Ohio - Craig Leon was tabbed as the winner of the MAC's Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week Award, the conference announced Tuesday.

Leon (Van Wert) took third with a time of 25:24.10 at the All-Ohio Championship last weekend, leading the Ohio men to a third place team finish as well. It was the second third place finish for Leon, who took the bronze at the Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 28, with a time of 24:46.00.

Leon's back-to-back third place finishes comes after winning consecutive races to open the 2007 cross country season. The graduate student won the season-opening Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green, Ohio, with a time of 24:39.21, his best mark this season. He won the following weekend at home in the Ohio Invitational with a time of 25:12.60.

Leon graduated cum laude from Ohio with a degree in integrated language arts and is now earning his master's degree in athletic administration.
