Three Bobcats Named to MAC Cross Country All-Academic Team

ATHENS, Ohio - Three Ohio cross country runners were recognized by the conference office and coaches on Friday afternoon when they were named to the 2007 men's and women's MAC All-Academic Teams. Craig Leon (Van Wert), who took second place at the MAC Championships last Saturday, was joined by Brian King (Richfield, Minn.) on the men's squad while Carime Reinhart (Boscom), who led the Bobcats to a second consecutive women's MAC Championship, was named to the women's team. Members of the MAC All-Academic Teams have to shine for their teams during the 2007 season while excelling in the classroom. Leon, who was also named to the MAC First-Team for his performance athletically this season, was also recognized for his work in the classroom. The graduate student in Ohio prestigious master's of sports administration program graduated cum laude last year with his bachelor's degree in integrated language arts. King, a senior from Richfield, Minn., sports a 3.80 GPA in finance and accounting and recorded his best place at the Ohio Invitational, finishing with a time of 25:58.10 in ninth place. Reinhart, who took the 2006 MAC title and placed fifth this season at the MAC Championships, has a fantastic 3.98 GPA in speech pathology. Reinhart, a senior who was also named first-team All-MAC, competes on the women's track and field team as well. Both cross country teams are resting this weekend before heading to the NCAA Regionals at Bloomington, Ind., on Nov. 10. ---------------------------- Joe Waltasti is the cross country contact in the Ohio media relations office.
