ATHENS, Ohio - Despite taking home the MAC Championship two weeks ago, the season is not complete for the women's cross country team. The men and the women will both compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Bloomington, Ind., on Saturday with the hopes of national qualification.

The men's 10K race is slated for 11 a.m. while the women's 6k competition will begin at 12:15 p.m.

The top two teams at each regional championship meet automatically qualify for the 2007 NCAA Championship meet, which is on Nov. 19 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Also from each regional meet, the first four student-athletes not on a qualifying team will be automatic qualifiers to the national meet. All individual automatic qualifiers must finish in the top 25 within their region. At-large teams will be selected by the NCAA on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Last year the women took eighth and the men finished 17th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Bowling Green, Ohio. Then-junior Carime Reinhart was the fastest Mid-American Conference runner in the field, placing 19th with a time of 21:50.60. Reinhart was just 38.44 seconds away from qualifying for the NCAA Championships.

Competing for the men on Saturday will be Craig Leon, Brian King, Ridge Robinson, Shamus Eaton, Todd Hollbrook, Kevin Dean and Scott Meyers. Running for the women will be Carime Reinhart, Kari Summers, Rachel Beakas, Julia Weisenborn, Kendra Churchill, Melissa Hornor and Annie Beecham.
