ATHENS, Ohio - Joey McKinney (Hilliard) signed a letter of intent to run for the Ohio cross country team in 2002, head coach Elmore Banton announced.

McKinney was a member of the third-place team at the 2001 Division I state cross country championships. As a senior, he was the regional champion. His personal best time in the 5K is 15:54. In track, McKinney finished second in the state in the 3200 meters as a junior.
