ATHENS, Ohio — Ohio RS senior linebacker Chad Moore and RS sophomore plackiicker Louie Zervos were named the Mid-American Conference East Defensive and Special Teams Player of the Week, respectively, following their play in Ohio's 48-3 win over Kent State last Saturday.
With the win, Ohio became Bowl Eligible for the ninth straight season.
Moore recorded his third interception and his second forced fumble of the season and ranked second on the team with five tackles, all of which were solo in the outing. Moore ranks third on the Bobcats with 46 tackles and 26 solo stops and leads the team in interceptions and is second with two forced fumbles. Moore is ranked third in the MAC in interceptions and ranks 16th nationally.
Zervos connected on field goals of 43 and 34 yards and went 6/6 on PAT. Zervos has connected on 10 field goals and 38 PAT this season and ranks third in the MAC with 68, second amongst kickers. With the two made field goals against Kent State, Zervos moved into second in career field goals made at Ohio with 39.
The Bobcats return to action Tuesday, Oct. 31 hosting Miami in the annual Battle of the Bricks. The game will kickoff at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
