MAC Favorite Ohio Football Set to Open Fall Camp August 6

ATHENS, Ohio –The Mid-American Conference favorite Ohio football team will report to fall camp on Sunday, Aug. 5 to begin the 124thseason of intercollegiate football for the Bobcats under head coach Frank Solich. The Bobcats' first practice will take place on Monday, Aug. 6 inside Peden Stadium. 

Solich is in his 14th year leading the Ohio football program and is the third-winningest coach in MAC history with 97 career victories. Solich and his Bobcats are searching for Ohio's first MAC football championship since 1968. The Bobcats concluded last season with a commanding 42-6 victory over UAB in the 2017 Bahamas Bowl. 

Ohio's offense will be paced by junior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario), who rushed for 21 touchdowns and 912 yards last season. The Bobcats will have several weapons at their disposal in redshirt senior running back A.J. Ouellette(Covington, Ohio), who contributed 1,006 yards rushing and seven rushing touchdowns, and redshirt senior playmaker Papi White (Seminole, Okla.), who finished with 631 yards receiving and three scores last year. Defensively, safeties Javon Hagan (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Kylan Nelson (Lexington, Ky.), along with redshirt senior cornerback Jalen Fox (Cincinnati, Ohio) and senior linebacker Evan Croutch (Youngstown, Ohio) will lead the Ohio defense.

Ohio has 17 scheduled practices and two scrimmages as a part of fall camp which begins Aug. 6 at 9:05 a.m. at Peden Stadium. All practices are open to the media and times are subject to change. Photography and video recording are only allowed for the first 10 minutes of each practice.

The Bobcats will also host their annual Ohio Football Media day on Friday, Aug. 10 at Peden Stadium.
