ATHENS, Ohio-- Junior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) of the Ohio football team has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Week Eight Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today.

Rourke accounted for five total touchdowns, throwing a career-high four touchdown passes and adding another on the ground in Ohio football's (4-3, 2-1 MAC) 49-14 win over Bowling Green (1-7, 0-4 MAC). Rourke completed 8-of-12 passes for 193 yards and carried 10 times for 101 yards. His 76-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Papi White (Seminole, Okla.) in the second quarter marked the longest completion of his career. Rourke has thrown for multiple touchdown passes in four games in 2018 and has rushed for at least 100 yards twice this year.

Rourke earns MAC East Division Offensive Player of the Week honors for the third time this season and the sixth time in his career. He is one of three Bobcats to garner weekly conference honors in 2018. Redshirt junior punter Michael Farkas (Mishawaka, Ind.) was named MAC East Division Special Teams Player of the Week for weeks three and seven, while junior kick returner DL Knock (Springboro, Ohio), earned honors for week one.

Ohio is set to play its second-straight home game on Thursday (Oct. 25) for a key matchup against West Division foe Ball State (3-5, 2-2 MAC). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Peden Stadium.
