NEW ORLEANS -- Junior quarterback Nathan Rourke (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) of the Ohio football team (7-4, 5-2 MAC) has been named one of eight "Stars of the Week" by the Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Rourke went 17-of-26 for 209 yards, three touchdowns and one interception through the air and accumulated 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground on seven rushes to help lead Ohio to a 52-17 win over MAC East Division rival Buffalo last Wednesday (Nov. 14) at Peden Stadium in Athens. Through 11 games in 2018, Rourke has completed 149 of his 238 pass attempts (62.6 percent completion percentage) for 2,141 yards (194.6 yards per game) and a career-high 22 touchdowns and has also run for 730 yards (66.4 yard per game) and nine touchdowns on 107 attempts. His 2,141 passing yards rank as the 10th-most in a single season in program history while his 22 passing touchdowns rank as the second-most in a single season in program history. His 4,344 career passing yards are the fifth-most in program history while his 39 career passing touchdowns are the second-most in program history.

College football fans can now go to the Allstate Sugar Bowl social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to vote for what they think was the best performance from this past weekend. When voting closes on Thursday at 11 a.m. (Central), the top vote-getter will be announced as the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting. Rourke was named to the 2018 Manning Award Watch List in August.

Ohio will close out the 2018 regular season by playing host to MAC East Division rival Akron (4-6, 2-5 MAC) in a nationally televised matchup on CBS Sports Network on Friday (Nov. 23.) Kickoff of the Senior Day matchup is slated for noon at Peden Stadium. Click here for ticket information or call 1-800-575-CATS (2287).
