Nate Murrie is currently in his debut season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Ohio baseball team.

Murrie spent the 2006 season as an assistant coach at Bowling Green High School in Kentucky, where he worked with the outfielders. With his help, the Purples finished in third place in the district tournament.

In 2004 and 2005, Murrie served as a student assistant at Western Kentucky University. The Hilltoppers went 35-28 in 2004 and won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament to earn a place in the NCAA Regional. The Hilltoppers made the appearance count, defeating the No. 1 seed Mississippi by a score of 1-0.

Murrie is a native of Bowling Green, Ky. and graduated from Western Kentucky in the spring of 2006 with a degree in physical education. Aside from baseball, he is currently substitute teaching.
