Drew Roberts is in his first year with the Ohio baseball program, where he will serve as the team's volunteer assistant coach.

Roberts, a 2007 graduate of Xavier University, brings many years of baseball experience to the Bobcats' staff. He was a four-year letterwinner while playing in the infield for the Musketeer baseball team from 2004-2007. Roberts played in 101 games for Xavier, starting 76, and racked up 62 hits, eight home runs and nine doubles during his career. He also scored 32 runs and drove in 47 during his four years with the Musketeers. His best season at the plate came in 2006 during his junior season, when he hit .253.

While playing at Xavier, Roberts began coaching for the Cincinnati Stix Amateur Baseball Organization in May of 2005, where he was involved in personnel selection, skills training, problem solving, scheduling and player evaluations.

During the summer of 2006, Roberts interned with the Cincinnati Steam baseball team of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, where he was both a member of the team and the newsletter director. He helped produce the team's internet newsletter, as well as serve as the team's spokesperson and work with inner-city youth to get them more involved in athletic activities.

Roberts has been involved with many baseball camps, instructing at Miami University camps, Xavier camps and in June 2008 became the assistant camp director for the Champions Baseball Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio.

A native of Cincinnati, Roberts attended Sycamore High School where he was named the team's MVP, as well as all-state and all-conference both athletically and academically.

He received his bachelor's degree from Xavier in public relations.
