Assistant Coach

Otterbein '07

Bobby Wright begins his second season as an Assistant Coach on the Ohio University baseball team.

Wright arrived in Athens after spending the past 10 years with the Otterbein University baseball program as both a player and Graduate Assistant Coach.

During his time at Otterbein as a graduate assistant, Wright played a major role in the team's recruiting efforts. He also provided individual instruction for all positions, while scouting reports for each opponent.

Wright has also spent time as a head coach with the Lexington Hustlers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League. During his time with the Hustlers, Wright actively recruited student-athletes who have potential to play at the professional level.

In addition, Wright has significant experience in working with youth camps throughout the state of Ohio as he currently serves as the Owner of BW Baseball, LLC. He also spent time overseas as the Manager of the Gefle Baseball Club in Gefle, Sweden.

As a player at Otterbein, Wright put together one of the most prolific careers in Otterbein baseball history. During his time with the Cardinals, Wright played in 160 career games (sixth all-time) and tallied 160 career hits. His 39 career doubles are the most among any Otterbein player. He also holds the all-time single season record for doubles in a season.

From 2005-2007, Wright served as team captain. Wright also was named All-OAC and earned All-Mideast Region in each of his three years as team captain. In 2005 and 2006, he helped lead the Cardinal baseball program to 31 and 34 wins, respectively. The Cardinals' 34-win season in 2006 are the most wins in school history.

Wright received a pair of degrees from Otterbein in Public Relations and Organizational Communication. He also holds a Post Baccalaureate Teaching Certification from Otterbein.
