Zach Huttie enters his second year on the Ohio University baseball staff. In his current capacity, Huttie will assist with the day-to-day operations of the squad.

Huttie arrived in Athens after spending two years at Denison University where he served as the Volunteer Assistant. His duties as a member of Mike Clark's coaching staff include working with hitters, infielders as well as field maintenance. Huttie will also assist with recruting efforts for the Big Red program.

A native of Cary, N.C., Huttie earned a bachelor of arts in environmental studies and communication in 2010 from Denison University.

A four-year lettwinner for the Big Red, Huttie enjoyed a strong senior season at Denison in 2010 as he helped his squad to an NCAC West Division championship and a runner-up finish at the NCAC Tournament.

Huttie hit .298 with 21 RBIs and eight doubles while leading all shortstops in the conference with a .961 fielding percentage. That season the sure-handed Huttie committed just six errors in 147 chances.
