The Ohio University baseball team returns to action on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. as it takes on Longwood. The Bobcats are in the midst of its 10 day spring break road trip where it will play seven games.
NOTING THE BOBCATS
-Ohio returns to action for the first time since its matchup with Georgia Southern on Sunday.
-The Bobcats were scheduled to play a midweek match up with UNC-Greensboro on Tuesday, but the game was cancelled because of poor weather conditions in the Greensboro, N.C. area.
-Ohio has had four games cancelled this year.
-Ohio enters its weekend matchup with Longwood after it went 1-2 this past weekend.
-The Bobcats' lone win last weekend came in 3-2 victory over Georgia Southern.
-Ohio's win over Georgia Southern was its first road win on the year.
-Ohio enters the week with a .290 batting average, which ranks 57th in the country and third in the Mid-American Conference.
-The Bobcats have four players that are batting .300-or-better. Freshman Mitch Longo leads the squad with a batting average of .486.
-Ohio is one of five teams in the country that have five true freshman in its everyday lineup this season.
-Longo had his eight-game hitting streak snapped this past weekend.
-Longo ranks in the top five of five Mid-American Conference statistical categories.
-Friday afternoon starter Jake Roehn will be in search of his second-consecutive win.

The Bobcats' matchup with the Lancers will mark Ohio's first all-time matchup with Longwood.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
Longwood enters its matchup with Ohio, having lost its last three games. The Lancers dropped a pair of games to Wofford (L, 4-3 and L, 4-3) last weekend and North Carolina Central (L, 16-12) this past Wednesday. Senior Matt Dickason leads the Lancers' offensive attack with a team-best .364 batting average. Junior Brandon Delk leads Longwood with four home runs and 14 RBI. The Lancers have a 4.38 team ERA. Sophomore reliever Travis Burnette owns the Lancers' top earned run average (0.79).
