Baseball Has Game Cancelled for Second Straight Day

April 15, 2009

PITTSBURGH - For the second-straight day, rain has tampered with the Ohio baseball team's schedule, as steady rain in the Pittsburgh area has forced the Bobcats' game at Pittsburgh today (Wednesday, April 15) to be cancelled. The contest was slated to be played at 3 p.m. at Trees Field, but will not be made up. Ohio defeated Pitt, 9-8, back on March 4 in Athens.

The Bobcats' game with Marshall Tuesday (April 14) was also rained out, as Ohio has now had nine games cancelled this season due to unplayable weather conditions. The 'Cats had just one cancellation all of last year.

With better weather in the forecast this weekend, Ohio will host Akron in a three-game Mid-American Conference East Division series at Bob Wren Stadium. Game one is set for Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m. ET, while Saturday's contest is slated for 3 p.m. ET and Sunday's series finale scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Live stats will be available via Gametracker for all three games on OhioBobcats.com. The games will also be broadcast on WATH 970 AM in Athens and streamed live on OhioBobcats.com with the "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein and Brian Boesch taking to the air 15 minutes prior to first pitch each day.
