ATHENS, Ohio - Tonight's scheduled baseball contest between Ohio and Duquesne has been cancelled due to rain and increasingly cooler temperatures in the Athens area.

The Bobcats and Dukes were schedule to get underway at 6 p.m., but rain moved into the area around 4 p.m., and the temperature started to drop lower than forecasted.

The cancellation brings Ohio's total number of games called off due to weather to eight in 2006.

Ohio will return to action this weekend when it hosts Mid-American Conference East Division leader Kent State. The three-game set will commence Friday at 6 p.m., in Bob Wren Stadium.
