ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University senior Jason Moulton was named CollegeSportsMadness.com's Mid-American Conference Player of the Week this week following his performance last week.
Moulton received the weekly honor after he authored the finest start of his 2012 campaign as he went a season-best 9.0 innings, helping the Bobcats to its lone victory of the week at Bowling Green.
During his nine innings of work, Moulton struck out six, scattered eight hits and did not allow a run, while limiting the Falcons to a .258 batting average. Moulton's nine-inning effort marked the seventh time this season an Ohio starter has gone the distance.
Moulton is the second Ohio player to receive the weekly honor this season. Freshman was selected as the site's Player of the Week back on March 19.
Ohio returns to action later this week as it plays host to Kent State for a three-game series, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. inside Bob Wren Stadium.
