ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio baseball team will take on West Division foe Central Michigan at 11 a.m. ET on Saturday (May 7) at Bob Wren Stadium in game two of the three-game Mid-American Conference weekend series between the squads, as announced by fourth-year head coach Rob Smith on Friday (May 6).
First pitch of the contest was originally scheduled for 3 p.m. ET but has been moved up due to rain in the forecast on Saturday afternoon.
Ohio's pregame ceremony to honor its 2016 graduates will now take place on May 19 prior to first pitch of 6 p.m. ET series opener against MAC East Division rival Miami.
The Friday (May 6) series opener between the Bobcats (20-23, 5-10 MAC) and the Chippewas (12-32, 6-9 MAC) is still scheduled for a 3 p.m. ET start while the Sunday (May 8) finale is still slated to get underway at 1 p.m. ET.
Ohio senior right-handed pitcher Jake Miller (Westerville, Ohio) is scheduled to oppose Central Michigan righty Sean Renzi on Friday. Junior right-hander Jake Rudnicki (Toledo, Ohio) gets the start on the hill for the Bobcats on Saturday while junior southpaw Nick Deeg will toe the rubber from the Chippewas. Ohio's Sunday starting pitcher has yet to be determined. Central Michigan will send redshirt freshman righty Pat Leatherman to the mound.
