ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University baseball team drew the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seeded Western Michigan in the 2012 Mid-American Conference baseball tournament at All Pro Freight Stadium on May 23 with the first pitch beginning at 9 a.m.
The winner of the Ohio-Western Michigan matchup will face the winner of the Kent State-Buffalo contest, which is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Ohio and Western Michigan have faced each other 145 times in school history with the Broncos holding a 80-68 series advantage over the Bobcats. Ohio has won 10 of its last 13 games against Western Michigan.
The Bobcats will make their 13th appearance in the MAC Baseball Tournament and their first since 2010. Ohio's only MAC Tournament Championship came in 1997 as it won three straight games to capture the league title.
Kent State earned the No. 1 overall seed. Toledo and Central Michigan earned the second and third seeds, respectively. Eastern Michigan, Miami and Buffalo received the sixth, seventh and eighth seeds to round out the tournament field.
