May 21, 2014

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University junior outfielder Jake Madsen was named to the 2014 Mid-American Conference Second Team as the league office announced its Postseason Award Winners.

The conference's 12 head coaches conducted the voting for the first and second All-MAC teams. The 30-player all-conference squad was announced in conjunction with the MAC Tournament that runs May 21-26.

Madsen (Cincinnati, Ohio) was selected to the all-conference squad for the first time in his collegiate career after he batted .322, while posting team-bests of 29 and 67 runs. His .322 average was the second highest total on the team. It also marked the third-consecutive season in which he has batted .300-or-better.

The 2014 campaign also marked the second-consecutive season in which Madsen started in every game. Madsen will take his 156-game consecutive start streak into his senior campaign of 2015.
