AVON, Ohio - Senior right-hander Jason Moulton was named to the Mid-American Conference First Team Tuesday night at the league's annual postseason award ceremony inside All Pro Freight Stadium - site of this year's championship.
Moulton (Toledo, Ohio) was a model of consistency in 2012 for the Bobcats as he worked 85.0 innings in 14 appearances, averaging just over 6.0 innings per start. In his 14 appearances, Moulton never allowed more than three earned runs.
He finished the year with a 2.33 earned run average, which ranked second in the MAC. Inside the friendly confines of Bob Wren Stadium, he was at his best, posting an ERA of 2.14 in seven starts. In addition, Moulton struck out 53 and walked 25 batters en route to earning a single season career-high six wins.
Ohio opens play in the 2012 MAC Baseball Championship on Wednesday against Western Michigan. First pitch is set for 9 a.m.
