AVON, Ohio - The Ohio University baseball team (28-28) will look to rebound from its opening round loss to Western Michigan as it takes on Buffalo Thursday afternoon at the 2012 Mid-American Conference Baseball Championship. First pitch is set for 12:30 p.m. inside All Pro Freight Stadium.

The winner of the Ohio-Buffalo matchup will move on to face the loser of the Kent State-Western Michigan matchup at 9 a.m. on Friday. The loser of the Ohio-Buffalo contest will be eliminated from the MAC Championship.

The two teams met earlier this season on April 20-22 inside Bob Wren Stadium. The Bobcat pitching staff held Buffalo to just eight runs for the entire series. The Bulls averaged just over seven runs coming into the series. Ohio starters pitched 21 of the game's 27 innings this past weekend. Offensively, the Bobcats outscored Buffalo 15-8.

Ohio senior starter Jason Moulton (Toledo, Ohio) will get the nod for the Bobcats. Earlier this week, Moulton was to the All-MAC First Team. In 2012, the senior right-hander made 14 appearances, averaging just over 6.0 innings per start. In his 14 appearances, Moulton never allowed more than three earned runs.

The Bobcats and Bulls both dropped their respective first round games on Wednesday. Ohio fell 4-2 to Western Michigan in the first game of the day, while Buffalo was shutout by Kent State 9-0.

"Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein will broadcast Thursday afternoon's game live on WOUB-AM 1340 and on OhioBobcats.com.
