Former Ohio University and current Chicago White Sox pitcher Adam Russell picked up another Major League victory on Wednesday night, working a third of an inning to become the pitcher of record in the Sox’ comeback win over the Kansas City Royals.

Russell (3-0, 2.70 ERA) got the call with two outs and the White Sox facing a 6-5 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning, fanning the right-handed Jose Guillen to end the frame. The Sox put together two runs in the top half of the eighth to take a 7-6 lead that they would not relinquish, and Russell became the recipient of his third big-league victory.

Since making his Major League debut on June 18, Russell has throw 6.2 innings in seven outings, striking out 7 and yielding only two earned runs. He has yet to be scored upon on the road while with the club, having tossed 2.1 innings of shutout ball away from Chicago’s South Side after Wednesday night’s performance.

Each of his three victories have come against teams from the American League Central. He earned the first two against Cleveland on consecutive days (July 1-2) before defeating Kansas City on Wednesday.
