ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio baseball team will hold its annual Green & White Series Oct. 25 and 26 at Bob Wren Stadium, head coach Joe Carbone announced Friday. The team will play a pair of intra-squad scrimmages over the weekend, with "Scout Day" set for Oct. 26.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the Bobcats will open the Green & White Series at 1 p.m. with a seven-inning game between the White squad and the Green squad.

On Sunday, Oct. 26, the players will run a 60-yard dash, take batting practice and infield for Major League scouts in attendance starting at 1 p.m. with the final scrimmage of the Green & White Series to follow at approximately 2:30 p.m. The team will play one 14-inning game, rather than two seven-inning games.

The Green & White Series is open to the public and admission to Bob Wren Stadium is free all weekend. The Green team captured last year's Green & White Series, 2-1.

The Bobcats enter the 2008-2009 season coming off a campaign in which they finished 29-30 (14-13 MAC) and earned their first birth in the Mid-American Conference Tournament since 2003, making it all the way to the semifinals. Ohio will be led by junior Marc Krauss (Deshler, Ohio), who was named 2007 MAC Freshman of the Year and is a two-time All-MAC First Team selection. Also returning is 2008 All-MAC Second Team honoree Brandon Besl (Cincinnati, Ohio).

Ohio opens regular season play Feb. 20 at Davidson.
