Bill Wuczynski Position: Assistant Coach Experience: First Season Alma Mater: UNLV '96

Wuczynski, a member of Christian's original TCU staff, arrives in Athens after completing four seasons as a Horned Frog assistant coach. He aided Christian in the turnaround of a TCU program that had gone seven years without a winning season before advancing to the postseason in 2011-12. The Frogs achieved their highest finish in seven seasons as a league member in the highly competitive Mountain West Conference, including two wins over ranked opponents (No. 11 UNLV and No. 18 New Mexico).

Wuczynski has proven to be indispensable on the recruiting trail, landing former talents such as 2011-12 First-Team All-MWC guard Hank Thorns and forward Zvonko Buljan, who he helped develop into the 2008-09 MWC Newcomer of the Year and a two-time honorable mention All-MWC selection. In addition to his duties on the recruiting trail, Wuczynski was primarily responsible for coaching the Frogs' low post players.

Among Wuczynski's talented group of forwards was Amric Fields, who was named Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year as a sophomore this past season after experiencing a breakout freshman campaign in 2010-11. He ranked as the No. 3 MWC freshman in terms of scoring and rebounding. Teaming with Fields was Garlon Green, who turned into one of the team's most dangerous scoring threats during the last two seasons. He led all Frogs in career games played and points, while he paced the squad as a sophomore in scoring average and 3-point percentage in 2010-11.

Prior to TCU, Wuczynski spent three seasons at Florida International as part of Sergio Rouco's staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. In his final season, the Golden Panthers were only one of two teams in the conference to have a pair of players ranked in the top-eight in rebounds per game in Alex Galindo (6.8 R-G) and Russell Hicks (6.1 R-G), who ranked fifth and eighth - respectively.

Wuczynski was a member of the Loyola University-Chicago coaching staff for three seasons as an assistant coach before accepting the position at FIU. With Wuczynski as a member of the coaching staff, the Ramblers recorded 32 victories over a two-season span, which were the most victories in back-to-back seasons in over a decade for Loyola University-Chicago.

He also coached and recruited two of the top scoring threats to ever play for Loyola University-Chicago in David Bailey and Blake Schilb. A sophomore when Wuczynski joined the coaching staff, Bailey concluded his career ranked third on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,933 points while Schilb ranked fourth with 1,879 points after his four-year career.

Wuczynski spent five seasons at UNLV as both an assistant coach as well as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Runnin' Rebels. Wuczynski helped usher in a recruiting class that was recognized by The Sporting News in 1997 as the best in the nation while the 1999 recruiting class was ranked as the second-best class in the country by Hoop Scoop. As member of the UNLV staff, the Runnin' Rebels averaged over 20 victories per season and made four post-season appearances: two in the NCAA Tournament (1998 | 2000) and two in the NIT (1997 | 1999).

At UNLV, Wuczynski had the opportunity work with several NBA talents in Shawn Marion, Keon Clark, Tyrone Nesby and Marcus Banks as well as USA Olympic team member and NBA standout Lamar Odom and New Zealand Olympic point guard Mark Dickel, who was a standout at UNLV from 1996-00.

Wuczynski graduated from UNLV with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1996. He and his wife, Shaunna, have one son, Shane.
