Head Coach Jim Christian
“The one thing in the game that stood out for us was that even though in the first half the pace we were playing at offensivelyled to turning the ball over, we continued to guard and that was really encouraging. Then in the second half, when we played much better on the offensive side of the floor we started playing the way we wanted to play."
"We had to play a bunch of different lineups due to foul trouble. We’ve got to stay out of foul trouble, but the guys who came into the game off the bench, Treg, Antonio, Travis, Bean; I thought they all did a phenomenal job of picking the energy level up. I thought they played unbelievably hard and that really helped us.”
On the slow start to the first half
“In the first half we did a poor job of capitalizing. We turned them over 11 times and we just weren’t advancing the ball up the floor and attacking. We were playing in the backcourt or dribbling the ball too much and in the second half we finally advanced the ball up the floor and we attacked some people and it spread them out and we got some three-point shots, and we made some shots."
"We executed pretty well in the first half if you take away the turnovers, when we ran our stuff, we got good shots. But it was good to see our guys play with some confidence. That was the message at halftime, just be who we are, be the team we are, get some confidence, knock shots in, move the ball. We had three turnovers in the second half, so that was the response."
"For me it’s all about responses. You can get challenged in a million different ways, but you have to respond the right way, and we responded the right way today.”
Sophomore Forward Treg Setty
On the bench playinh productive minutes
“It [Having a productive game] means a lot. My coaches and my teammates told me to just be patient and keep playing within myself and playing the role that I’m supposed to play, and eventually it would start going my way. I just had to be patient and we got the win and that’s the most important thing.”
Senior Guard/Forward T.J. Hall
“Coach came in at halftime and just told us to knock down the shots we make every day, so we just tried to shoot with confidence and make it happen.”
On returning to action after Sunday's double overtime loss
“I was anxious to play, I just felt like I wasn’t aggressive against Akron. I just really wanted to come out and drive the ball more. I think my teammates were really anxious to play too. I just feel bad after a loss like that in double-overtime, and you feel like you should have had it, but there’s nothing you can do about it. I really wanted to play another one.”
