Ohio Head Coach Tim O'Shea
I just hope we go to Cleveland and shoot the ball the way we did.
I'm really happy to see Jeff (Halbert) and Michael (Green), as seniors, the way they played the last two games, you know, they'll have some great memories of their last couple games in The Convo.
On playing in the first round without a bye:
I think it's an advantage for us to have to play a Monday night game because it gives us two wins in a row now, big wins, that really have everyone in that locker room feeling pretty confident about their ability to shoot the basketball and our ability to play at a high level.
On going back to Cleveland:
Our returning players from a year ago have the confidence that they can win that thing because they've done it, and not every team up there can say that.
On continuing to score well:
The key for us though, is shooting the ball well, putting some points up on the board; I mean 16-0 when we score 65 or more points is a pretty telling statistic.
On predictions for the MAC tournament:
Five out of the eight teams have a real shot at winning the tournament, and I think we are on of those five.
Ohio senior Mychal Green
On making shots:
I try to play with confidence a lot. After you make a couple it does go through the roof, and you don't really think about it, you just shoot. Obviously, you shoot more.
On the quarterfinal match-up with Miami:
We just want to go out and keep playing with confidence. We feel like we're MAC champs until we lose. We just want to go to Cleveland where it's a neutral court and play with confidence.
Ohio senior Jeff Halbert
On taking threes:
It was open, and I hit it. Then, I hit the next couple, and it felt good. The ones I missed were just in and out, and I was kind of mad. But, oh well, we got the win. We're just trying to use this momentum to get Miami on Thursday.
On the strategy against Miami:
I really don't think we can sneak up on Miami. We knocked them out of the tournament last year. My freshman year we knocked them out of the tournament and some of the guys are still on the team from that year. They're going to be ready for us, and we need to come out and play hard.
Ohio freshman Jerome Tillman
On his first MAC Tournament game:
I thought it was great. We came out with a lot of energy. It was a lot of fun for me just being a new experience and everything.
On being named to the MAC All-Freshman Team:
My goal is to be one of the best players in the league, so I'm just going to try to take it day by day, and play my game.
Central Michigan Head Coach Jay Smith
On the game overall:
I thought we came out and played hard. I thought they did. We cut it to ten there, and I thought we had a chance. The first time we came here we obviously didn't play too good at all.
Obviously, 50 at half was a dagger for us. That was really a big part of the game.
I think we scored 28 points in the second half, and that's where we needed to be in the first half. We didn't get that done.
