College Basketball Invitational - First Round Match 7:00 p.m. - March 18, 2008 The Convocation Center - PREGAME: - - Brown won the last four games coming into the contest. FIRST HALF: - Huffman scored the first 14 points of the game for Brown, including four three pointers. He finished the half with 22 points (8-of-13 from three-point range). - Brown opened the game on a 9-3 run. - 27 of Brown's 37 points were on three pointers. HALFTIME: SECOND HALF: - - Huffman set a new career high with 39 points. He also made the most three-pointers in a single game in Brown basketball history. - - Leon Williams' and-one at 8:53 put - Game at tied at 54-54, 57-57, 60-60 (all three point baskets to tie for each team) - FINAL: - David Huffman set a new record (nine) for most three-pointers made by a visiting player in the Convocation Center. The Bears also set a facility record for the most 3-pointers made by an opposing team (16). The previous high was 13 by Central Michigan (1/13/90) and St. Bonaventure (12/31/02). His 39 points were the most by an opposing player since Derrick Tarver of Akron lit up the Bobcats for 41 on Jan. 8, 2003 in a 112-104 Ohio overtime win in the Convo. - Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman posted their 43rd and 17th career double-doubles, respectively. - Ohio has now won 21 consecutive non-conference home games. - Bubba Walther had a career-high 12 assists. - Ohio won its first postseason game since March 16, 1995 when it defeated George Washington in the Convo by a score of 83-71. - |
