Ohio Advances In CIT With 64-62 Win Over CSU

Campbell made a career-best 9-of-10 free throws, including the game winners with five seconds to play.

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men's basketball team (24-11) is moving on to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament after dispatching of Cleveland State (21-12) 64-62 in first round action Wednesday in the Convocation Center.

Freshman forward Antonio Campbell (Covington, Ky.) led the scoring for the Bobcats with a career-high 21 points and sealed the victory for Ohio by hitting the game-winning free throws with less than five seconds left in the game. Campbell shot 9-of-10 from the charity stripe and also recorded three rebounds.

Junior guard Stevie Taylor (Gahanna, Ohio) and sophomore forward Treg Setty (Maysville, Ky.) also played a strong role offensively as both scored 13 points and had three rebounds apiece. Setty make 6-of-6 free throw attempts, while Taylor knocked down 3-of-4 3-point attempts in 17 minutes. It was Taylor's highest minute total since injuring his leg at Toledo on Feb. 12.

Ohio's bench players made the difference against the Vikings as they outscored Cleveland State's bench, 29-6.

The Bobcats shot 41.7 percent (10-21) from the field in the game and knocked down 17-of-21 free throw attempts (.810). The `Cats limited the No. 2 3-point shooting team in the nation to just 26.3 percent from beyond the arc and held a 35-33 edge on the glass in the game.

Bryn Forbes led the way for the Vikings with 20 points and nine rebounds.

With the victory, Ohio reached 24 wins for just the fifth time in school history.

Ohio moves on to the second round, where the `Cats will host Wright State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
