MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Senior guard D.J. Cooper had a team-high 19 points, but it wasn't enough as the Ohio University men's basketball team (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season Saturday night at Robert Morris, falling 84-76.

Cooper (Chicago, Ill.) dished out 10 assists and scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half. He was one of four players that finished in double figures as fellow senior Walter Offutt (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 16 points, sophomore Stevie Taylor (Gahanna, Ohio) scored a season-high 11 points and senior Ivo Baltic tallied 10 points.

Offutt also pulled down a team-best eight rebounds, while junior forward Jon Smith (Columbus, Ohio) notched a pair of blocks.

Ohio never led in the game and trailed by as many as 19 at one point as the Bobcats dropped their fourth straight decision to the Colonials. The `Cats four losses to Robert Morris have come by an average of just 4.0 points.

As a team, Ohio was outshot 56.4-40.3 percent. The Colonials also held a 66.7-41.9 advantage from beyond the arc. Eight of the Colonials' 12 3-pointers came off the hot hand of RMU guard Karvel Anderson. Anderson finished the game with a game-high 28 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 on the night.

Ohio struggled in the early going as it was held to just two field goals in the opening six minutes of the game, while Robert Morris jumped out to a 12-5 lead. The Bobcats fought back thanks to Offutt's second straight 3-pointer and a layup by Ivo Baltic, which made the count 12-10.

The Colonials responded by going on a 19-2 run to open up a 31-12 lead with 7:09 to go in the first half. Ohio responded in a big way as it held Robert Morris to just six points for the remainder of the half and climbed back to within six points at the break, trailing 37-31.

Taylor led the `Cats with 11 first half points as he connected on three 3-point field goals. Offutt chipped in with nine points as he went 2-of-6 from the field.

In the second half, Robert Morris increased its lead to 10 at the 14:26 mark of the second half. Four minutes later, Ohio cut the lead back down to five, but the Colonials always had an answer for the `Cats as they held a five to six point lead for much of the second half.

Ohio made one last charge in the final four minutes as it cut the RMU lead to three twice in the final stretch, but could never take the lead as the Colonials outscored the Bobcats 10-5 in the final two minutes to secure the win.
