Head Coach Jim Christian
Opening Statement
“I’m proud of our effort off the bench today. I thought it was going to be big for us. It’s going to be big for us all year, but it was big for us tonight. I thought we were unbelievably sound, holding them to 20 percent shooting in the second half, 27 [percent] for the game. It enables us to get onto the break a little bit. Overall, a huge improvement from the last time we played, so moving in the right direction.”

On the team's defensive effort
“We’ve been really sound on holding teams down, but we haven’t forced a lot. These guys were able to shoot some gaps, make some steals, just a little more aggressive. Our guys are more in tune, they were more prepared.”

On transition offense
“Any way we can get out and get easy baskets is going to help us. I think at times the last couple of games, we’ve struggled to get the rhythm and flow that we want. That’s where we have to get better at between now and Wednesday.”

On turning the ball over
“The stakes are going to go up on Wednesday [vs. UMass]. Those possessions that are empty, you’re gonna feel those. We did a really good job up until then. Going into Oakland, we were averaging 10 turnovers a game. Those 17 empty possessions, you can’t have that.”

On the team's balanced scoring attack
“We believe that the strength of our team is in our numbers. It’s going to be that way every night; some guys are gonna have it going. But to me, as long as were taking good shots and taking care of the ball, I really don’t care who scores.

Javarez Willis - Junior Guard
On playing well off the bench
“It’s kind of my job, to come off of the bench and make a spark. That’s my job, and today I came and I played better than last game.”

On generating transition offense
We played like we were supposed to play on defense, and It produced fast-break opportunities.”

Antonio Campbell - Freshman Forward
“I’ve been putting in hard work these past couple of weeks, I know the game more and get a feel for it. Today, I came, I played better on offense, defense, I rebounded good. My teammates were able to find me. They know what I’m capable of doing down there in the paint.”

On his role
“My job is to give us some good minutes, and that’s what I did today.”
