ATHENS, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced today that the February 2 men's basketball game between Ohio and Akron will be broadcast live on ESPNU as part of the league's February basketball television package.
Ohio and Akron will square off at 5 p.m. from James A. Rhodes Arena. The Bobcats posted a 2-1 record against the Zips last season, including a 64-63 victory in the MAC Championship Game on March 10, 2012.
This season, the Green and White have two other games that can be picked up by ESPNU/ESPN3, including home contests versus Bowling Green (Feb. 9) and Kent State (Feb. 16). The team’s regular season finale (either March 8 or 9) against archrival Miami (Ohio) is a candidate to be picked up by ESPN or ESPN2. Ohio (10-5, 1-0 MAC) returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 12) against Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Fans can listen to the game live on the Ohio IMG Network powered by Horizon.
