ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men’s basketball team (15-5, 6-0) looks to extend its winning streak to a season-best eight games Wednesday against MAC West Division foe Eastern Michigan (10-10, 3-3 MAC).

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center, where the Bobcats are 34-2 (.944) in their last 36 games. “Voice of the Bobcats” Russ Eisenstein and Rob Cornelius will call the action live on the Ohio IMG Sports Network powered by Horizon, with audio and video streaming available on OhioBobcats.com. Pre-game audio coverage will begin 30 minutes prior to tip (6:30 p.m.).

Last time out, Ohio edged Kent State, 69-68, on Saturday (Jan. 26) at the M.A.C. Center. Ohio used two late defensive stops and two critical free throws from senior guard D.J. Cooper (Chicago, Ill.) to clinch the victory. It marked just the third time in the last 16 seasons that Ohio has won at the M.A.C. Center.

With the win, Ohio is 6-0 in the MAC for the first time since 1973-74 and 3-0 in conference road games for the first time since 1992-93.

Cooper (23) and senior forward Reggie Keely (20) accounted for 43 of the Bobcats’ 69 points, while junior guard Nick Kellogg (Westerville, Ohio) added 10 points. Cooper also led the team with five assists and three steals. During the game, Cooper moved into a tie for 20th place on the all-time NCAA Division I assists list and recorded his 300th career steal. With 14 more steals, the 2013 Cousy Award Finalist will move into 25th place on the all-time NCAA Division I steals ledger.

Ohio shot 50 percent from the floor (28-56) for the seventh time in eight games on Saturday. The Bobcats are 11-0 this season when they shoot 50 percent or better from the field.

With a win against Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, Ohio will move to 7-0 in MAC games for the first time since the 1960-61 season.

Scouting The Eagles (10-10, 3-3 MAC)
The Bobcats and Eagles will meet for the 68th time on the hardwood Wednesday. Ohio is 3-0 against MAC West Division foes this season. The Green and White hold a 44-23 edge (.657) in the all-time series, and Eastern Michigan has not won at the Convocation Center since 2003. Ohio and Eastern Michigan first met during the 1972-73 season, with the Bobcats earning an 89-73 win in Ypsilanti. Last season, Ohio dropped a 68-55 contest at Eastern Michigan.

The Eagles have posted a 10-10 record this season but are 0-8 away from the EMU Convocation Center. Eastern Michigan has posted a 3-3 record in conference play and is tied for second place in the West Division. Last time out, the Eagles defeated Northern Illinois, 42-25, on Saturday at home.

Senior guard Derek Thompson leads the team with 11.2 points per game, while junior center Da’Shonte Riley is the Eagles’ leading rebounder (6.1 rpg). Freshman guard Jalen Ross is the team’s leading assists man (3.2 apg). Eastern Michigan is coached by former Syracuse assistant Rob Murphy, who is 24-28 in two seasons in Ypsilanti.
