ATHENS, Ohio-The Ohio-George Mason BracketBusters matchup scheduled for Saturday, February 23 will begin at 1 p.m. in the Convo and be carried on ESPN2, the network announced Monday afternoon.

 

The Bobcats (16-7 overall, 7-3 Mid-American Conference) are led by senior forward Leon Williams (Baltimore, Md.), who should challenge for MAC Player of the Year honors this season. Williams currently leads the league in rebounding (10.2), is second in field goal percentage (60.9) and is third in scoring (16.6). Ohio currently enjoys the league's highest RPI (56) and has won its last 10 home games dating back to last season.

 

George Mason, currently 17-7 and tied for second in the Colonial Athletic Association, have won seven of their past nine games to improve to 9-4 in the CAA, one game behind conference leader VCU.


 

 

 

Ohio and George Mason have never met, but have two common opponents this year. The Bobcats defeated Kent State 71-59 Jan. 19th in the Convo, while the Patriots lost at Kent 73-55 on Dec. 8. That same day, Ohio also defeated Delaware 78-59 in the Convo, while the Patriots dropped a 73-68 overtime decision at Delaware on Jan. 9.

 

The Bobcats will be back in action Wednesday at Toledo (7-15 overall, 4-6 MAC) at 7 p.m.
