ATHENS, Ohio -
The Ohio University men's basketball team (19-6, 10-1) looks to earn its fifth-straight win Wednesday evening against Eastern Michigan University (12-13, 5-6).

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Convocation Center, where the Bobcats are 36-2 (.947) in their last 38 games. "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein and Rob Cornelius will call the action live on the Ohio IMG Sports Network powered by Horizon, with audio and video streaming available on OhioBobcats.com. Pre-game audio coverage will begin 30 minutes prior to tip (6:30 p.m.).

With a win, Ohio will move to 11-1 in MAC games for the first time since 1984-85 and reach 20 victories for the 14th time in program history. The Bobcats have earned at least 20 wins in two of the past three seasons.

Ohio is 5-0 against the MAC West this season and 33-14 (.702) since the start of the 2005-06 season. The Bobcats have never gone a perfect 6-0 against the West since divisional play began in 1997-98.

Last time out, Ohio earned a thrilling 78-75 overtime win against Kent State Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Convocation Center. It marked the first time the Bobcats have swept the regular season series with the Golden Flashes since 2000-01.

With Ohio trailing 75-73, in OT, Stevie Taylor hit the go-ahead 3-pointer to propel Ohio to victory. Senior Walter Offutt led Ohio with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds, while D.J. Cooper added 13 points and seven assists.

During the game, Cooper moved past Taurence Chisholm (Delaware), Scott Machado (Iona) and Frank Smith (ODU) and into a tie for 15th place on the all-time NCAA Division I assists list. Cooper needs three steals to tie for 25th on the all-time steals list.

Bobcats Beaten at Eastern Michigan, 68-55
Ohio dropped its final regular-season game against a Mid-American Conference West Division foe this evening when it lost at Eastern Michigan, 68-55. The Bobcats fell to 7-4 in league play and maintain an overall mark of 19-6.

Cooper is first in Ohio program history with 130 career starts. Cooper, along with seniors Reggie Keely (University Heights, Ohio) and Ivo Baltic (Kansas City, Mo.), can set the school record for career games played (135) with an appearance versus Eastern Michigan. The current mark of 134 is held by the Ohio senior trio and former Bobcat Kenneth van Kempen (2007-10).

Scouting The Eagles (12-13, 5-6 MAC)

The Bobcats and Eagles will meet for the 68th time on the hardwood Wednesday. The Green and White hold a 44-23 edge (.657) in the all-time series, and Eastern Michigan has not won at the Convocation Center since 2003. Ohio and Eastern Michigan first met during the 1972-73 season, with the Bobcats earning an 89-73 win in Ypsilanti. Last season, Ohio dropped a 68-55 contest at Eastern Michigan.

The Eagles have posted a 12-13 record this season and are 1-10 away from the EMU Convocation Center. Eastern Michigan has posted a 5-6 record in conference play and sits in third place in the West Division. Last time out, the Eagles won at Ball State, 56-50, on Saturday. Junior forward Glenn Bryant led the team with 20 points and added four rebounds.

Bryant paces the team with 10.9 ppg this season and is third on the team with 4.4 rebounds per game. Junior center Da'Shonte Riley is the Eagles' leading rebounder (6.1 rpg) and chips in 3.7 ppg. Freshman guard Jalen Ross is the team's leading assists man (2.8 apg). Eastern Michigan is coached by former Syracuse assistant Rob Murphy, who is 26-31 in two seasons in Ypsilanti.

Ohio takes a break from MAC play to compete in the annual Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters event. The Bobcats will play at Belmont Saturday at 10 p.m. (EST) in Nashville, Tenn.
