ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University men's basketball will take on Western Michigan on Tuesday, March 10, in the first round of the 2009 FirstEnergy Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, the league office announced early Sunday evening. Tip-off has been tentatively slated for 4 p.m. ET, but the Bobcats will not take the floor until 30 minutes after the previous game has been completed.

The Bobcats have drawn the ninth seed in the bracket, while the Broncos have received the eighth seed in the tournament. Ohio is 4-1 all-time against WMU in the MAC Tournament, with all meetings coming as both teams' opening-round games. The Green & White dropped their only meeting of the season with the Broncos, 76-62, back on Feb. 11, at University Arena. Sophomore guard Tommy Freeman scored a career-high 20 points to lead four Ohio players in double figures in the setback.

Tickets for the action can still be purchased through the Ohio University athletics ticket office. In anticipation of the day's first two games lasting longer than their allotted two hours, pregame coverage will begin at 4:15 p.m. ET on the Citizens Bank Ohio ISP Sports Network.
