CLEVELAND, Ohio-Ohio senior forward Leon Williams (Baltimore, Md.) was named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week Monday by the league office.

Williams, a candidate for MAC Player of the Year, tallied an average of 26.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in leading the Bobcats to a 1-1 week, clinching the fourth and final bye spot in this week's MAC Tournament. He also missed just three field goal attempts (16-19, .842) and five free throw attempts (21-26, .808). He was particularly on fire Sunday against Buffalo, converting 10-of-11 shots from the field (91 percent), which tied him with Jerome Tillman last season and Curtis Simmons in 1997 for fourth-best all-time shooting percentage in a game (min. 7 attempts).

The Bobcats (19-11) will face the winner of fifth-seeded Miami and 12th-seeded Buffalo Thursday at 9:30 p.m. in the MAC Quarterfinals in the Quicken Loans Arena. The game will be televised on FSN Ohio.
