Nick Kellogg Says Thank You To #BobcatNation

Kellogg is a part of the all-time winningest senior class in Ohio University history.

April 4, 2014

A message from Nick Kellogg on behalf of Ohio's 2013-14 men's basketball senior class:

It is always hard to enjoy the season and everything that comes with it when you are actually in the middle of it. Only when it unfortunately comes to an end can you take the necessary time to reflect and think about the ins and outs of the five-month journey that you just went through.

Everyone reflects differently, for different periods of time and for different reasons. Being a senior has magnified the process greatly because when that final buzzer sounded, I realized it was the last time I would put the jersey on for my school, the community and the fans. During my reflection, the thing that meant the most to me personally, was the fan support I received here for four years in Athens, Ohio.

College basketball, simply put, is nothing without its fans. They are as important to the game as the players themselves. The past four years, the fans here in Athens have been nothing short of amazing. This community has showed our basketball team so much love and support from the first day I stepped on campus. It says so much for our program to have the leading attendance (in the MAC) in men’s basketball every year I have been here.

The students are a huge part of that as well as the season ticket holders and the general Athens community. One thing that I will always remember about our home wins is the fact we would go through the student section and thank the fans for coming out.

Looking back, it meant a lot to me and I hope it meant the same to them. There are so many things to be thankful for as a college athlete but I would be remiss if I did not put the fan support at the top of the list. This is for the entire #bobcatnation that stuck with the team and I throughout the ups and downs of each season I played here. Thank you so much for everything you do for our program as a whole. We all appreciate it and I am extremely grateful for the way you have embraced me and made me feel for my stay in Athens.

On behalf of the fellow seniors from the 2013-2014 Ohio University Men’s Basketball team, thank you for all of your dedication and support of our program!
