ATHENS, OHIO-Ohio head coach Tim O'Shea has signed on Stacey Waters as the newest member of the Bobcats' men's basketball program, the Department of Athletics announced Friday.

Waters, a Detroit, Mich. native, averaged 22 points and six rebounds at Bridgton Prep Academy this season after earning all-city and all-state honors as a sophomore and junior at Detroit Renaissance High.

The 6'4, 180 pound Waters, who started all four years of his high school and prep school career, helped Renaissance capture the state championship as a sophomore and was named Bridgton Prep's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He also received the Alumni Award for Distinguished Students at Bridgton.

As a junior, Waters averaged 14 points and six boards while shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range.

O'Shea and the Bobcats notched the program's 11th 20-win season during the 2007-08 campaign.
