ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio University head men's basketball coach John Groce has been chosen to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Southern Ohio Copperheads' game on Wednesday night.

The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET at Bob Wren Stadium on the Ohio campus. Single-game tickets cost $5 each for adults, while youth tickets are just $4 apiece.

Groce is entering his second season at the helm of the Bobcat program, having led Ohio to the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament in 2008-09. The Bobcats led the MAC in three-point field goal percentage (36.3) for the first time in program history in Groce's initial campaign, while also ranking atop the league charts in assists per contest (13.6).
