Dan Helder Kings Release

ATHENS, Ohio - Former Ohio University forward Reggie Keely will begin his professional basketball career with the Dutch Basketball League’s Dan Helder Kings.

The Kings officially announced their 2013-14 roster Friday. Keely will report in August and the team’s regular season tips off in October.

“I’ve worked really hard for this opportunity and I’m excited to continue my career in Europe,” Keely said. “I want to thank my coaches and teammates who helped make this possible.”

Keely shined in his final season with the Bobcats in 2012-13, earning All-MAC Third Team honors after averaging a career-best 12.1 points per game. The senior started the last 23 games of the season and posted at least 10 points in 19 of those contests.

Keely also led the team in rebounding in 10 games and tallied at least 20 points on four occasions.

He was second in the MAC in field goal percentage (.600) and is sixth all-time at Ohio with a .525 career mark from the floor. Keely, along with former teammates D.J. Cooper and Ivo Baltic, ranks first all-time at Ohio with 143 career games played. He is part of the all-time winningest class in program history (94).

The Dutch Basketball League is the premier professional league in the Netherlands.
