ATHENS, Ohio - Former Ohio University forward Ivo Baltic (Kansas City, Mo.) will begin his professional basketball career in Croatia with Cedevita Zagreb, the club announced this past week.
The club team competes annually in the Croatian League, Adriatic League and in the Eurocup. Baltic will be joined on the roster by former Duke University standout Nolan Smith.
Part of the all-time winningest class in program history (94 career wins), Baltic recently wrapped up a four-year career with the Bobcats that included three NCAA Tournament victories, an NIT berth, two MAC Tournament titles and a MAC regular season championship. Baltic led Ohio in rebounding last season (5.0 rpg) and averaged 7.0 points per game as a senior.
For his career, Baltic is one of three players to hold the school record for career games played (143). He posted 666 career rebounds and is one of 35 players all-time at Ohio to score at least 1,000 points (1,066).
