Ohio Men's Basketball Schedule
ATHENS, Ohio- The Ohio University Men's Basketball team will have four of its games televised this season on SportsTime Ohio and has a chance to have a possible 10 MAC games this year on STO, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 as the Mid-American Conference announced its TV schedule on Tuesday.
Ohio will play 18 regular-season home dates in the Convocation Center during the 2012-13 campaign. Nine mid-week games are set to start at 7 p.m. and six Saturday home games will start at 2 p.m. The lone weekend exceptions will be the home games vs. Toledo on Jan. 19 and Kent State on Feb. 16. The regular-season finale vs. Miami could be played either Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m. or Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m.
The Bobcats have four scheduled games set to appear on SportsTime Ohio during the months of January and February and there is a possibility that six other games could be picked up by STO or the ESPN family of networks.
Ohio opens the MAC season on STO with its Jan. 9 contest vs. Buffalo. It will also serve as the conference curtain raiser for the 'Cats. Last season, Ohio knocked the Bulls out of the MAC Tournament with a thrilling 77-74 win in Cleveland last season.
STO returns to The Convo only 10 days later for Ohio's game vs. Toledo on Jan. 19. The Rockets were another team that saw its season come to a close at the hands of the 'Cats. After dropping the regular-season matchup, Ohio bested UT, 65-57 in the MAC Tournament quarterfinals.
Ohio's first road game on STO will appear on Jan. 26 when it travels to Kent State. This contest features the return of Jim Christian to the school he led to two NCAA Tournament berths and six 20-win seasons. The Bobcats split with the Golden Flashes last season, dropping a 68-61 contest at KSU last season.
In February, the rematch of last year's MAC Championship will take place in Athens as Akron comes to town. The teams that have captured the last four conference titles will do battle on Feb. 27 as part of Ohio's annual Green Fever game. There will also be a student tailgate prior to what should be a monumental contest at The Convo.
The Green and White have three games that could be picked up by STO; March 2 at Bowling Green, March 5 at Buffalo and March 8/9 vs. Miami
The games that could be picked up by ESPNU/ESPN3 include; Feb. 2 at Akron, Feb. 9 vs. Bowling Green, Feb. 16 vs. Kent State
The regular-season finale vs. Miami is the candidate to be picked up by ESPN/ESPN2. Due to that possibility, the date and time of the contest vs. the RedHawks is subject to change.
Along STO games can also be seen via these communication platforms; Comcast Michigan (channel 900), Comcast Indiana (channel 81/concentrated in Indianapolis, Muncie and Ft. Wayne areas) and Comcast Sports Net Chicago. All have indicated they will air games live when possible with teams specific to their region depending on existing programming commitments. They have also indicated many other games could air on a same-day or next-day delayed basis.
